Bible study opportunity….


You are invited to join Fr. Jake Runyon and journey in this pre-Advent six-week study of the holy Gospel according to John for a greater understanding of the fourth Gospel in the Bible.  This Gospel contains many details about Jesus not found in the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

LOCATION: Cathedral Center Hall at 1102 S. Clinton St.

DATES: Monday evenings: September 24, October 1, 8, 22 and 29

            Tuesday mornings: September 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30

TIMES: Monday evenings 6:30pm (live) or Tuesday morning 10:00am (recorded)

Teaching will last approximately one hour with questions and answers to follow.

Life in the Spirit 7-week Retreat!

The Life in the Spirit Retreat will begin on Wednesday, September 12 thru October 24 from 6:30-8pm in the Cathedral Center Hall.  God is always ready to be present to us and deepen our spirituality and our reliance on His power to accomplish in us what we cannot do on our own.  This retreat opens us to God's power in our life.  As we approach the start date, please keep a prayer to the Holy Spirit in your daily prayer time. Praise, Presence and Prayer will be meeting on September 12 and September 26 at 8pm at the Cathedral Center Hall after the Life in the Spirit Retreat concludes.  All are welcome!

Immaculate Conception is the title of the Blessed Virgin as sinless from the first moment of her existence. In the words of Pope Pius IX's solemn definition, made in 1854, "the most holy Virgin Mary was, in the first moment of her conception, by a unique gift of grace and privilege of almighty God in view of the merits of Jesus Christ the Redeemer of mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin". Her freedom from sin was an unmerited gift of God of special grace, and an exception to the law, or privilege, which no other created personal ever received. Solemn celebration of this special dignity is noted each December 8 in a special Mass on that Holy Day of obligation for all Catholics. The Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of Immaculate Conception, is the patroness of the United States, our Diocese and this Cathedral.


St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry,

Cathedral Conference

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference collects non-perishable food items and simple toiletries on a weekly basis.  Please feel free to bring your donations to Mass and place them in the baskets located by all doors in the back of the Church.  If you prefer a monetary donation, write your check to:   St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral Conference and place it in the collection basket or send to the office at       1102 S. Hours of operation: Monday-Thursday 1:00pm-3:00pm in the Cathedral Center 1102 S. Clinton St.

Food Distribution on the Third Wednesday of each month at 2:00pm  First Come First Served.
This month needs include: canned tuna, canned chicken, rice, beans, peanut butter, canned fruit, soups, macaroni and cheese, toilet paper and laundry soap

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

The Catholic Church invites every unbaptized and those already baptized of other faiths to explore your
desire for the Catholic faith and prepare to enter into Full Communion with the Catholic Church.

Individuals over the age of 18 years old, baptized Catholic, not yet Confirmed or have missed any other Sacrament are asked to sign up for preparation classes.  Adult Confirmation with Bishop Rhoades takes place at the Cathedral every year near the Feast of Pentecost.
